My partner and co-‐director James (Jim... I am actually the only person who calls him James, which has often caused confusion... everyone thinks that James and Jim are two separate people... he does the job of two people so might as well have two names!) James is generally out and about, he takes care of all the flooring and blind measures and quotes.
He is our resident carpet anorak, what he doesn't know about the carpet industry isn't worth knowing, having worked in every aspect of the industry from development of product and yarns, through to the manufacture of wool, polypropylene and nylon carpets from contract specification through to the domestic home market.
He will be offering regular tips and advice on how to choose the right floor covering for your home, office or contract location.
Then there's Phil... he is James' brother and looks after the warehouse, deliveries to site, blind fitting and on site customer liaison.
His right hand man is Ainsley (although known to everyone as Hamish... don't ask). We all actually try to steal Ainsley because we haven't found anything he's not good at yet... he makes the best cup of tea and can ride a unicycle... obviously not at the same time!
Then there is our star floor layer Tommy! I will probably resist the temptation to tell you what an amazing carpet fitter he is because if you look up "carpet fitter" in the dictionary, it will say, "see Diva". Nuff said! Ssshh!
Tommy will be offering regular helpful tips for the DIY floor layer. The do's and don'ts of carpet fitting. How to fit carpet tiles. How to measure and estimate for flooring. Choosing the right carpet fitting tools. How to fit carpet on a bull nose. etc
Then there's me, I'm Diane... obviously since I'm the only female on the team, I am in charge ;-‐) Having started my career in the carpet industry after leaving school, I am your resident technical expert in all things flooring related, from choosing the right underlay and adhesives to contract flooring advice. I will be offering advice on the right product to select for your project as well as helping with design ideas and working within a budget.
Welcome to our brand new website and online brochure...hope you like it and that it becomes an invaluable source for all your flooring and furnishing solutions.
The last few months have been really exciting for James, myself and our staff team! At the end of last years summer season, we knew that in order for us to continue to function as efficiently as our customers have grown to expect, we would need to make some changes. The biggest step was moving from our old premises, a big old three storey mill building (or should I say ice box).
We are now located in a much more suitable flat warehouse unit, being just on the outskirts of Nottingham city centre allows us easy access into the city and beyond. Our new warehouse has free on site car parking for visitors and we are currently fitting out our showroom to display our stock ranges. Stock comes in and out of the building constantly, so the new warehouse has made life much easier.
Over the coming months, we hope to bring you many useful links and simple cost effective ways of improving your investment properties to not only ensure that your properties let quickly, but to help you to achieve a better rental income from your investment.
We work very closely with a couple of highly recommended maintenance teams and hope to get them involved with some useful tips and advice for keeping your property in tip top condition.
You can also follow us on Twitter and Facebook to keep up to date with Onestop. We will tweet and post when new blog entries are online and also answer and questions you might have.
